Second International Symposium
on Spatial Accuracy Assessment
in Natural Resources
and Environmental Sciences
May 21-23, 1996
Colorado State University
Fort Collins, Colorado
U.S.A.
The purpose of this symposium is to share the latest ideas and information on
issues concerning accuracy assessment, error propagation, and uncertainty in
primary spatial data, GIS modeling, and remote sensing analyses. The symposium
will consist of topical plenary sessions of invited and contributed papers, a
poster session, and social events. A symposium proceedings will be published.
As with the first symposium, emphasis will be on interaction and discussion.
Topics of interest include: uncertainty assessment and representation
techniques, statistical assessment of GIS and remote sensing analyses, theory
and application of spatial statistics (including point processes and
geostatistics), the effects of spatial (and other) sources of uncertainty on
analytical results and management decisions, and the development of inexpensive
and/or user-friendly implementations for accuracy assessment with commercially
available software. (Authors will not be limited to the specific topics
mentioned above: all relevant submissions will be considered) Contact: Dr. H.
