The above excerpt from the recent American Forests survey moves me to
write, and point out to my fellow forest list readers, that 40% of those
surveyed opposed forest management, and 44% opposed logging on federal
lands.  If those samples are representative of public opinion nationally,
then I think the Forest Service, the forestry profession, and the big
timber companies have a credibility problem...
