The Forestry Faculty of the University Pertanian Malaysia (University of Agriculture Malaysia or UPM) is organising a short two-week course on Sustainable Tropical Forest Management, to be held at the University campus on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It will be held from the 20th.November to the 2nd. December, 1995. The course will focus on the issues of sustainability, development of criteria and indicators, biodiversity, climate change, social aspects including people participation and ITTO Target 2000. Technical issues of planning, silviculture and information technology will also be mentioned. The course is directed at middle level and mid-career forest and natural resource managers and researchers. The fee is US$1000 which includes course materials, food and lodging and field trip expenses.
