MULTIPLE USE AND ENVIRONMENTAL VALUES IN FOREST PLANNING

Due to the evident need for courses on this subject, EFI is arranging
a course on multiple use and environmental values in forest planning,
which is analogous to the course 'Integrating environmental values
into forest planning' arranged at the EFI in the summer of 1994.
THE COURSE IS TARGETTED FOR... researchers, especially PhD students,
specialising in a field related to the theme of the course.
THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO...
* present the state-of-the-art and methodologies applied in different
parts of the world
* prepare case plans taking all aspects of environmental values into
account
* discuss future development needs of multiple use forestry
The lecturers will be leading specialists in the field, and the venue
of the course is a picturesque farm in East Finland, only 30 kilometres
from the Russian border.
Deadline for applications: 28 February 1995. A total of 20 participants
will be selected from among the applicants by the end of March.
Accommodation and board as well as travelling (subject to certain
restrictions) for the participants from the Scandinavian countries will
be covered by the Nordic Research Academy. For participants from other
countries the participation fee is 325 ECU covering accommodation and
board. 2-3 scholarships may be offered to the participants from other
countries.
