Hello Jim and other forest netters on that side of the earth, In my personal view, a large part of the longish discussions on court cases and Forest Service allegations we've seen in this mailing list is not intrest- ing and I've hit delete quite intensively at times when reading my mail messages. However, there is also the interesting part in all of this. Post-industrial societies have much in common in how forest practices are seen by foresters (+ forest owners) and, on the other hand, by other people. So, I don't suggest that we cut all of this (real world?) non-scientific discussion. I do suggest consideration on how long quotations and personal attacs fellow netters will want to read. They are best directed to individuals involved in the discussion. I hope everybody learns his/her mail program adequately to be able to redirect messages to appropriate recipients.
