I am looking for information on a species of birch (Betula kylowii). The only place I found mention of B. kylowii in is a book by Dr. John M. Harris titled "Spiral grain and wave phenomena in wood formation" (Springer-Verlag, 1991). The information I really need is a common name for this species, the abbreviated name of the discover, and the range of the species. Any further information on the biology of this species would also be appreciated (especially on figured grains), but is not necessary. I believe B. kylowii is European or Asian, but am not sure. I have already checked every taxonomy book I could get my hands on, and drew blanks every time. The email address of Dr. Harris would also help, as I could contact him. Please respond directly to my email address. Thanks in advance, Don C. Bragg Utah State University dbragg@geog.usu.edu
