The Board of Directors of Manitoba Model Forest Inc. is inviting applications for the position of GIS/Data Manager. Manitoba Model Forest Inc. is a non-profit organization sponsored under Canada's Green Plan. The goal of the Model Forest is to accelerate the implementation of sustainable development in forestry by applying new approaches and testing and demonstrating advanced technology. The Model Forest works in partnership to build on the natural and human features of the region to create an ecologically model of forest manangement. Reporting to the General Manger, the GIS/Data Manager will be responsible for the development of a GIS database using PC-ESRI Arc/Info; quality control of information and acquistion/development of interactive tools and models needed for inventories, analyzing and presentation of results. The ideal candidate will possess an appropriate combination of education and experience in the biophysical sciences and computing and GIS technologies.
