wood machining tests




I am setting up a project to determine the wood machining properties of our lesser known wood species in British Columbia. The only guidance that I have so far is the ASTM D 1666-87 or as it is called "Standard methods for conducting
machining tests of wood and wood-based materials". This standard may be
acceptable to North American wood users but what about European or Asian
wood users. Does anyone know of other wood machining standards/ methods
that I might incorporate in these tests? If you have the information that I
