The South. I hate to say it, but I think that David got it from the South.

I cannot agree with this analogy, but then we have to (re)define our
terms, starting with "environmental extremist".
To 2nd Naomi's take on "environmental extremist": It's a lousy term,
especially when our friends and allies use it.
This, like any other wimpy bullshit term, is a trick. We needn't take
ownership of it.
It's used by our adversaries to portray some of us as thoughtlesss,
knee-jerking troublemakers. It is inaccurate, and not a very nice term,
because it is so divisive. Certainly, this is not a term that we ought to
take ownership of by using willy-nilly on one another.
(I also deplore the term "radical extremist", an oxymoron if ever there
was one. Radical comes from the Latin "radix", meaning "root". "Radical
Environmentalists" worth their salt are dealing with root causes. By
getting to the root of the problem, they can then work on finding
fundamental solutions. Nothing wrong with that.)
