TREE IMPROVEMENT DATA ANALYST TECHNICIAN
COMPETITION #S15-94
This is a third party contract position. The successful applicant
will be employed by The Sault College, however, will work at a
Ministry of Natural Resources site which has been provided to The
Ontario Tree Improvement Board. The period of employment is 52
weeks (with possibility of annual renewal) and is located in Sault
Ste. Marie, ON.
The Tree Improvement Data Analyst Technician will carry out the
analysis of complex multivariate test data for the Ontario Tree
Improvement Board; edit, compile, and organize data and supporting
documentation; develop, implement and maintain analytical programs
and protocols; ensure data validity, security and integrity;
prepare and present analysis summaries, reports, graphics and
displays; assist in the development and application of new
analytical techniques and protocols; other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have a university degree and possess
the following skills: excellent computer programming abilities;
excellent statistical analysis abilities including hypothesis
testing, analysis of variance, regression, correlation, and
frequency analysis; excellent knowledge of the principles and
procedures of experimental design; considerable experience in the
use of the SAS language and SAS Macro systems; knowledge and
experience in the statistical analysis procedures of the SAS STAT
package including ANOVA, FREQ, GLM, and VARCOMP; knowledge and
experience in the management and analysis of large and complex
multivariate data sets; knowledge and experience in the UNIX and
DOS/Windows operating systems; knowledge and experience in C and
Unix shell programming; and excellent wordprocessing skills. The
successful applicant must be able to work independently, and in a
team environment; possess excellent communication skills; and have
the willingness and ability to learn and apply new analytical
techniques.
Pay is commensurate with education and experience. Accommodation
