GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIPS Three Ph.D. graduate research assistantships are available in a coordinated program of research on the sustainable development of forested wetlands. These positions can be filled very quickly if appropriate candidates are identified. The project is taking a landscape approach to evaluate the effects of management practices on wetland-dependent processes and the functional linkages among uplands, wetlands, and aquatic systems in the Upper Great Lakes Region. The three graduate students will work together but the specialized research areas will be 1) hydrology/nutrient cycling, 2) vegetation dynamics and response to disturbance, and 3) landscape structure and influences of microclimatic patterns. Each assistantship is funded for three years. Inquiries should be addressed to: Dr. Glenn D.
