1> The Greater Ecosystem Alliance seeks a Conservation Director. The position will be based in GEA's office in Bellingham, Washington, with responsibilities throughout Washington and southern British Columbia. Responsibilities include campaign development, grassroots organizing, media, legislative strategy and lobbying, some fundraising. Frequent travel within the region and to D.C. is expected. Salary is $20-24,000, depending on experience, plus substantial vacation time and benefits. GEA works to protect biodiversity and wildness in the large ecosystems of British Columbia and the Northwest states. We have scientific and advocacy staff in three offices in the U.S. and Canada. Qualifications We are looking for a self-starter with creativity, follow through, and the ability to inspire others. Extensive experience in wildlife and public lands advocacy is needed, as are excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to biodiversity protection. Demonstrated skill in working with media, supervising staff and volunteers, and soliciting major donations is also important.
