There is quite an extensive literature on growth and yield predicton; more than I can deal with in an e-mail. Basically, you will need to use a single-tree type of model rather than a stand-level model in order to get good predictions at such low stand densities. Avery and Burkhart (Forest Measurements 4th edn, McGraw-Hill, 1994) give an overview of the American literature in chapter 16 of their book. For more details, you could try my new book, J. Vanclay (1994) Modelling forest growth and yield: applications to mixed tropical forests. CAB International, ISBN 0 85198 913 6
