FOREST ECOLOGY TEXTBOOKS

Dear colleagues.

I am thinking of changing the forest ecology textbooks used for a 4th year
forestry class at the Agricultural University of Norway. I am looking for
up-to-date (last 10 years) textbooks that puts stronger emphases on the
forest as a ecosystem (components, processes, functions), sustainable
management of the forests, biodiversity, pollution, landscape ecology etc.,
and not only the traditional topic areas clear-cutting, site preparation,
planting etc. The books must be written in English or one of the Scandinavian
languages (excluding Finnish).

Any suggestions? I would also be curious to hear which texts other forest
ecology lecturers utilize, and the reasons for their choices.
