Yes, but there is nothing about information theory that mandates
computer screens. Suppose that you could curl up with a device
that was connected to the worldwide telecommunications network
and not only could the device present the latest novel (100,000
words < .5 floppy disk) but also a complete key to flora and
fauna of the particular location you're in, all provided by
solar-powered satellites. And email, too.
Sort of like a library card, only you don't have to go to the
library.
