Dear forest netters:
A call for help:
I am working on a review of tree growth at the "warm end" of a
species's natural range. Any species from the temperate and boreal zone
is of interest to me, including Northern and Southern hemisphere.
My study deals with temperature effects and I am not looking for
growth limitations caused by water stress, which makes it so
difficult to unearth any information at all. So far, I only have
data on Picea abies and Picea mariana. Any growth information would be
helpful, height growth being even more interesting than radial growth.
If you know of any reference in English or German (other than Proceedings
of a conference in Stavanger, Norway from 1947) or know of unpublished
information that I could somehow get at, please send me a message
to my e-mail account. If I get enough interesting information
I will provide a summary to the net.
Thanx for taking the time to read this and perhaps for replying!
Jochen
