Dear global change researchers:
We are pleased to announce a new NBS global change listserver that I
hope you all will subscribe to. I have attached our announcement and
directions below. The list is accessable to both cc:mail users *and*
Internet users. This listserver will focus on issues important to the
NBS global change research program and the Division of Cooperative
Research. If sufficient interest develops we may expand it to the
entire NBS (pending additional hardware capacity).

Please distribute widely:
We are pleased to announce a new electronic list for the National
Biological Survey (NBS).
The NBS Division of Cooperative Research Unit (CPSU) at the University
of Minnesota, with support from the Department of Forest Resources is
pleased to announce the NBSTALK list.
This list has been created to facilitate communication within the NBS
Division of Cooperative Research (DCR), Global Change Program (GCP),
and National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII). The list
makes use of a computer in the College of Natural Resources. The list
is strictly voluntary, open to any one who can receive messages from
Internet, but is intended for employees and researchers associated with
DCR, GCP, NBII. The specific content of the list will be determined by
is users.
Any subscriber may post messages to the list and all subscribers will
receive any posted messages. The list is not supervised, but all
posted messages will be archived in the Department of Forest Resources
Gopher Directory at the University of Minnesota.
This effort is experimental and uses a computer with other higher
priority duties. Thus, if usage becomes too large, we may suspend,
terminate, modify, or take other actions so that high priority jobs can
be completed without problems.
