LETTER FOR COMPUTER NETWORK
Dear colleagues,
European Forest Institute, together with some national forest research
institutes, is developing a model for forest scenario building on the European
forest resources and their utilization. We feel it is necessary to study
carefully the ongoing research work.
We have started the work with a literature study and acquaintance to the
existing models, in order to prepare the 'state-of-the-art' report in this
field of research. At the same time we would like to explore some of the
works done earlier in more detail, and potential research teams with whom
collaboration in the future may turn useful.
If you are working on such a model, could you shortly describe your system
concerning the following items :
- for what purposes the model can be used (who is the potential final user,
what size of area can be covered/described by the model),
- the structure of data input needed for the model,
- the structure of output and its interpretation ?
We would appreciate as well, if you could inform us about the other colleagues
you may know involved in this work . After studying the answers we may annoy
you with some more detailed questions. Please send your answer by E-mail to
