I am interested in equipment technology available for debarking at the stump. I have found references that indicate it has been developed in eucalypt plantations in Australia. One reference indicates that a modified processor head on a Lako/Kato grapple processor was used to debark eucalypts at the stump (Australian Forestry 50(3):157-165). I searched the last four years of New Zealand Forest Industries and also found scattered references to this machine, but no further detail. I'll be receiving "The Young Eucalypt Report" soon, and I hope that it has more information. If anyone has information on: 1) Other machines for debarking at the stump. 2) The Lako/Kato grapple processor including a) how it works b) how well it debarks. Respond to me or the network.
