Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following
positions at the University of Canterbury.
Unless stated otherwise, each position is continuing (tenured) and the
minimum qualification on appointment is the Ph.D. degree or equivalent.
Academic ranks at New Zealand universities are:
SALARY SCALE/RANGE
TITLE NZ$ per annum:
Lecturer (entry) 40,000 - 50,000
Senior Lecturer 53,000 - 68,000
Associate Professor 71,000 - 77,000
Professor (most senior) 80,000 - 100,000
Note: NZ$1 = approximately Aust 80c; GBP 38p; US 59c.
Entry level salaries still allow for an above New Zealand average standard
of living.
For positions of two years or greater duration, fare/s and removal expenses
to Christchurch, to certain maxima, are paid for an appointee, spouse and
dependent children.

research leadership in any area of forestry or wood science.
The appointee will be expected to serve for a period of time as Head of
Department.
The title of Professor is the most senior academic rank at New Zealand
universities.

FORESTRY SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER, FO15E 30 September
LECTURER
Applications are sought from suitably qualified specialists in any area of
forestry or wood science for one position of Senior Lecturer/Lecturer,
and one position of Lecturer. Each position may be filled by single or
joint appointments, either tenured or fixed term (contract). Applicants
for a continuing position should have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent.
