POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT PLANT ECOLOGY DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY AND GRADUATE PROGRAM IN ECOLOGY UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE Position: Assistant or Associate Professor, Tenure-Track Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be expected to establish a vigorous, externally funded research program in plant ecology. Ph.D. with a strong field orientation and expertise in physiological ecology, population ecology or plant community ecology required. The successful applicant will be expected to establish a vigorous, externally-funded research program in plant ecology, and to supervise graduate students at the M.S. and Ph.D. levels. He or she will also have the opportunity to develop a graduate course in his or her area of area of expertise as well as participate in undergraduate teaching within the Botany or Biology curriculum. Qualifications: A Ph.D. and a commitment to excellence in research and teaching is required. Department of Botany and Graduate Program in Ecology: The Department of Botany consists of 18 faculty members involved in research and teaching over a broad range of subdisciplines of Botany, and the Ecology Program has over 80 shared faculty from across the departments and colleges at UTK as well as the various national laboratories in the area. In addition, there are plant scientists and ecologists at nearby Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
