I thought we all agreed on this network that environmental lobbist activity
like this piece below would no longer be considered 'fashionable'. My
understanding has been all along that we are to be discussing the science of
forestry, etc. Not trying to form political action committees to solve
environmental issues. One look at the 'Yellow Pages' for the Internet and
one will find lots of venues for environmentalist issues and lots more. Of
course, I wouldn't mind a piece like what is below IF it came with rebuttle
opinions and factual materials that provide for some discussion of science.
Here in the PNW we have such environmental issues all around us...I for one
am tired of the name calling. It will be for the Tasmanians to work out
their problems on their own.
The only person who really needs to
reply to me is the manager of the network.

Dear forest networkers, I would like to briefly bring to your attention some
aspects of Tasmanian government-industrial forestry and to ask your opinions
on whether such forestry is commonplace elsewhere. Also I would like to see
the many of the practices listed below changed as soon. Use of trees surely
doesn't
have to be so devastating as it is here.
Thank you for your time.
