Is anyone out there interested in wood samples taken in support of a quaking aspen stem analysis project? We felled and cut discs at 2 foot intervals from 4 trees at 13 locations spread across northern Minnesota. The discs were dried, sanded, and scanned using the MacDendro computer package from Regent Instruments. We are in need of the space currently taken by the boxes of discs. I have had offers to take the discs for firewood and for centerpiece holders at a wedding, but thought I should offer them first to any scientist who has a scientific interest in doing some kind of analyses of wood. Let me know if you are interest in any or all of the wood. Otherwise I will be offering them to the persons mentioned above -- within a couple weeks. Thanks, Rolfe A.
