GRADUATE STUDY IN FOREST REGENERATION

RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP IN NURSERY MANAGEMENT

The School of forestry at Auburn University is seeking qualified students to work
on projects regarding nursery management.  The position will be filled at the
Master of Science or Ph.D. level.  Depending on the research topic, the student
may be working along with members of the Auburn University Southern Forest
Nursery Management Cooperative.


RESEARCH TOPICS

Seed efficiency, weed control, seedling nutrition, competition dynamics,
herbicides, root growth potential, bud dormancy, seedling morphology.

Specific examples:

Economics of seedling uniformity
Bud dormancy of slash pine
Reducing Transplanting Shock of bare-root seedlings
Hand planting methods
Longleaf pine establishment
Weed control in hardwood seedbeds without methyl bromide
