       APPLICATION FOR POST-GRADUATE  RESEARCH GRANT / SCHOLARSHIP

I am writing to look for grant or scholarship to pursue graduate studies
( Ph. D). I am a holder of Post-Graduate Diploma in Forestry from the
University of Melbourne, Australia. I have submitted a thesis on Intercropping
Lupinus arboreus (prennial lupin) in forest plantation management for a 
MSc. Degree in Forestry, attainable by May 1994.

My background , research experience  and interests cover a broad spectrum 
of topics but I am particularly interested in vegetation, nutrient and site 
management to achieve sustainable production. Having a background in 
agriculture, agroforestry and forestry in addition to international research 
experience with CSIRO Division of Forestry (Australia),  provides excellent 
qualifications for a graduate research.

I worked with the Agroforestry Unit of the FAO/ Ministry of Agriculture 
Project in Ghana as Regional Agroforestry Officer from 1989 - 1992. 
Technical  and research reports produced during this period include:

i) Diagnosis and Design Project Report on Guinea Savanna agro-ecological zone
ii) Effects of Leucaena leucocephala prunings on the yield of Dioscorea rotunda
    (white yam) .
iii) Evaluation of Albizia lebbeck, Cassia seamea, and Leucaena leucocephala 
     for fuelwood production.
