Planning for the IUFRO meeting on Minimum Data Requirements for Sustainable 
Forest Management later this year is going ahead (I'm very glad that I 
postponed it.  There is no way I would take a busload of scientists into
Zululand at present!).  There certainly is adequate interest but a number of 
potential candidates from developing countries have indicated that they need 
financial support in order to be able to attend.  I cannot help them and have
referred all such enquiries to the Commission of the European Community, but 
have now been told that source cannot help.
Can anybody point me to a source of possible funding for deserving candidates
from developing countries who need monetary assistance to present a paper at 
the Stellenbosch meeting in November.
