Save A Tree, Use Paper
People everywhere are looking for alternatives to wood pulp paper
because every sheet of wood-pulp paper we use contributes to global
deforestation. Unless we use alternative fibers, trees will
continue to die for recycled paper. To get recycled paper in your
hands, virgin old-growth forests were clear-cut at some point.
Since most paper is chlorine bleached, toxic dioxin-chlorine
compounds are dumped into our rivers, and smog-producing chemicals
are pumped into the air. We even pay the paper companies to do it
for us. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says people
exposed to dioxin, a common chlorine-bleach wood paper plant
by-product, are at risk of leukemia, lymphoma and liver cancer, and
"the weight of evidence (linking dioxin to cancer) is becoming
overwhelming."
By using alternative fibers such as hemp, kenaf or grasses, we
can personally contribute to a halt in deforestation: 50% of all
the trees cut down in the United States are used to make paper.
Don't assume that recycled paper is the best you can do.
The alternative: Tree Free EcoPaper
Tree Free EcoPaper is an alternative that has many
environmental benefits in comparison to wood based paper. The
paper is manufactured from 50% Hemp and 50% Cereal Straw, using 90%
less chemicals in its production than any other brand of paper.
This paper is acid-free, and has a shelf life of over 1500 years
compared to 75 years for wood fiber paper. It can be recycled up
to 20 times compared to 2 to 5 times for wood pulp paper. Since
half the volume of our landfills are made of paper products, using
this paper would drastically reduce our landfill burden. Tree Free
EcoPaper is whitened with non-acid hydrogen peroxide, thus no
dioxin is produced, eliminating the production of toxic by-products
that poison our water and air.
According to USDA Bulletin #404, hemp fiber produces 4.1 times
more fiber for paper per acre than trees. Hemp can grow anywhere.
It doesnt require converting notoriously poor quality forest soils.
Besides paper, hemp is also manufactured into canvas, rope, lace
and linen and a variety of other products.
We're leading the way by producing paper products using an
environmentally sound process. By using Tree Free EcoPaper, you
reduce your impact on the forests and the rivers. Our new 24lb
paper has broad appeal in printing, high speed photocopying and it
is suitable for double sided copies. Tree Free EcoPaper is
available in reams of 500 sheets or cases of 5000 sheets. It is
available in sizes from 8.5"x11" sheets up to 35"x45" for
professional printing applications. Our product line also includes
