                   CENTRAL EUROPEAN FORESTS

an international journal of forest science and management

A region characterised through history be the coexistence
of highly diversified ethnic entities with a common cultural
heritage, Central Europe developed a long tradition in forestry
and has become one of the cradles of sustained management.
After a period of politically motivated discontinuation of
contacts, similarities in ecological and socioeconomic conditions
in the heart of Europe demand stronger scientific and
professional interaction.
The journal is aimed to serve and promote forest science and
management in the Central European region through the cooperative
effort of research institutions and universities of different
countries.

AIMS

Central European Forests, CEF, is dedicated to forestry problems
of the Central European region and is open to authors
contributing to forest research and management. The objective of
CEF is to offer an international scientific publishing
opportunity for researchers and to encourage communication among
the countries of Central Europe. At the same time, CEF is open
to contributions from outside if the themes are relevant for
Central Europe. Papers in CEF may be of interest to research
scientists, managers and policy makers working in all aspects of
forestry.

SCOPE

CEF covers all fields of forest sciences, from basic to applied
subjects, relevant for the region. Priority is given to specific
or holistic approaches in support of a close-to-nature, sustainad
management of forest ecosystems, including forest and landscape
ecology. Papers on achievements in fields of more general nature
(such as methods, general physiological, ecological and
operational processes etc.) are also accepted.

CONTRIBUTIONS

Original scientific contributions of high quality are requested.
CEF also features review articles by distinguished scientists at
request of the Editorial Committee, comments on papers published,
book reviews, as well as short communications. In publishing,
priority is given to Authors from the region, but contributions
from other countries are also welcome.

SUBMISSION

Papers should be submitted in triplicate to the address of
correspondence. Submission of a paper implies the certification
of the Author(s) that the paper is original and has not been and
will not be published in world languages. Papers submitted will
be revised by experts appointed by the Editorial Committee. This
will be done in a "double blind" process, i.e., Authors remain
anonymus to reviewers. Manuscripts will be refereed on their
originality, on the importance of their subject matter, as well
as on their clarity, concisennes and accuracy. Inadequately
prepared manuscripts will be returned without review. Upon
acceptance of a paper, the Author(s) will be asked to transfer
the copyright of the paper to the publisher, and to send the
revised manuscript on computer diskette in ASCII, WP (v5.1) or
Word (v5.5) format.
