GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP IN FOREST MANAGEMENT
The University of Kentucky Department of Forestry has funding available for
qualified students in forest or natural resource management. Annual stipends
average $10,000 (U.S.) per year, and students are eligible for tuition
scholarships and additional teaching assistantships.
While the exact nature of the research work depends on the interests and
skills of the student, current research projects include:
1. Evaluation of aggregation in dynamic programming
2. Use and development of GIS, natural resource databases,
and decision support systems
3. Economics of ecosystem restoration
4. Economic development of timber resources in Appalachia
5. Timber supply in the central hardwood region of the U.S.
