		POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS
		     IN WOOD SCIENCE


The Department of Wood Science at the University of British Columbia is
seeking applications from foreign doctoral graduates (recent or near
completion) with a strong academic and research record, interested in
post-doctoral fellowships in all areas of Wood Science including,

	*wood adhesives and composites
	*wood anatomy and ultrastructure
	*wood/pulping chemistry
	*wood mechanics and timber engineering
	*wood physics and drying
	*wood preservation
	*sawmilling optimization and control
	*forest products biotechnology
	*forest products marketing

Interested persons are expected to submit a detailed resume, three names
of reference, and a two-page description of the research project they
propose to undertake at UBC. The proposal should include a description of
the experimental procedure and the equipment required to carry out the
research. The best candidates will be selected by a departmental
interdisciplinary committee.

This program is supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Council
of Canada. The deadline for application is June 1, 1994.
