Faculty Position In Forest Biometrics
The University of Washington College of Forest Resources invites
applications for a 12-month tenure track faculty position available
immediately. A Ph.D. is required with primary strength in biometrics or
statistics, with at least one degree in forestry. Candidates should also
have training and experience in the application of quantitative methods
to silvicultural problems, including synthesizing biological information
and theory into models of forest growth. Priority will be given to
candidates with experience in analysis and modeling growth and yield of
production forests. Responsibilities include 50% teaching and 50%
research, including courses in biometry and modeling at undergraduate and
graduate levels and development of a research program in growth and yield.
Research responsibilities include leadership of the Silviculture Project
in the Stand Management Cooperative, a regional industry-agency-university
applied research cooperative.
