Visualization software Some time ago somebody asked about software for visualizing crown architecture data. Sorry to reply here, but I lost the original message. Anyway, this might also interest others. My public domain "3d-viewer" (3dv.exe) has been around for a while. It shows 3-d vector data on PCs, with real-time rotations using a mouse. Data is read from simple ASCII files. The distribution package contains an example of pine branches from work done in New Zealand at the Forest Research Institute with Dr. David Whitehead. It is also useful for visualizing 3-d statistical data, etc. Look for 3dv25.zip (or *.zoo, etc.) in ftp sites or bulletin boards, for example in directory <msdos.graphics> of simtel20 or mirrors. There is also 3dkit1.zip, with more examples, hard-copy output, utilities, and tips related to 3dv. Let me know if you need any help.
