Dear Foresters, I subscribe to several scientific mailing-lists. The mail-load is at the upper limit all the time. I know where to find amusing messages, but I do not expect them from a science-list. Greetings are ok in personal messages, but not on an international scientific mailing list, here they are "junk mail" (perhaps excepting the listowner...). Now I turn the flames down and try give more value to this message by announcing a christmas present to you all: The archives of this list are available as monthly files at our gopher-server. Point you gopher to "gopher.metla.fi" port 70, and find the directory "Publications, databases and information systems". If you do not know what is a gopher-client program, please ask your system managers to set one in your system or contact me and I'll try to provide pointers where to find more information. The METLA gopher server will serve also with current information concerning the IUFRO'95 meeting in Finland as well as other up to date info. If you have information which you would like to provide to you fellow foresters, and is too long to be posted on the mailing list, please contact me. The server is still under development and will have many more interesting things available to foresters in the future. It is worth your visit! I wish you all a Peaceful birthday party (you know who's).
