Measuring instrument for tree heights

Would anyone know of an instrument for measuring tree heights which uses
sonar and/or ultrasound.  I believe it originated in Scandinavia.

I'm not sure of the name of the instrument but I think it might be either
FORESTVERTEX or FORESTER VERTEX.

I would be most grateful for any help/information on this topic.
