I know of two scientific graphics programs which run under Windows
which I'd recommend. Both offer a wide range of graph types and
should be pretty stable at this point. I've used Delta Graph for
awhile and been pretty pleased with it. The version I used (2.0) was
sometimes unstable but that was from 1992 and there may be something
more recent. Stanford Graphics is the other one. Version 1.0 got bad
reviews for bugginess but more recent reviews of 2.? were quite
favorable so we've ordered a copy to try out. Note that there is a
Mac version of Delta Graph as well. These packages are not statistics
packages per se, although they do simple regressions, etc. like many
spreadsheets. More importantly they offer DDE and OLE options, in
some cases for graphics as well as for data. I don't know about your
particular chart type however.
