CALL FOR PAPERS
Natural Resource Decision Support - Theory and Practice
IUFRO S4.11 Information and Knowledge Management is organizing and
sponsoring one of 22 sessions at the Resource Technology 94
Meeting entitled "Decision Support - 2001", Delta Chelsea Inn,
Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Sept. 12-16, 1994. (For information on

Phone: 613-589-2880). For the IUFRO session, we are looking for
presentations and papers dealing with any aspect of the theory and
practice of developing expert decision support systems in natural
resource management. Presentations dealing with design and
documentation, architecture (including blackboarding and object
implementation), messaging between modules, explanation systems,
various forms of implementing artificial intelligence within a
decision support framework, knowledge acquisition, representation
and management, and examples of partially or fully completed
decision support systems are encouraged.
This session will consist of 1 invited paper and 7 volunteer
papers. All papers will be expected to pass a peer review process
and will be published in a special issue of AI Applications.
Abstracts are due: 1 January 1994. Notification of
acceptance/rejection will be sent to authors: 1 February 1994.
Papers will be due: 1 June 1994. Reviews will be returned to
authors: 15 July 1994. Revised papers will be due at the
meeting. Members of the coordinating committee are: Patrice
