Greetings!  I am a new subscriber to this system, and have enjoyed the forum
so far.  

I am a graduate research assistant at Michigan Tech. Univ. in Houghton, MI
and am studying stand and site factors associated with birdseye sugar maple
(Acer saccharum).  I would be interested in any information that anyone may
have on birdseye maple or figured wood.  This information could represent
any aspect of birdseye or figured wood, from distribution to genesis to
economic importance.

I would also greatly appreciate any information on the occurrence of
birdseye in Europe (or other continents), the species in which it is
present, distribution of birdseye, economic values, etc.
