I just have to add fuel to the fire... :) I used SYSTAT as the support software for a second semester Statistics class a few years ago. Now certainly learning the software is not easy (this is no word processor), but on the other hand I have not ever forgotten how to use the software, even after several months of not using it! I think the iconic menus lend themselves to remembering what does what very nicely. I am constantly amazed at how quickly I still get work done in SYSTAT on the Mac. It does take a bit of work to get a really nice plot, you have to change many switches on a tool kit. So in the end, if you can spend the time to learn it well, you will never forget it, which I think is wonderful. The big con to SYSTAT is you need a Mac with at least 6-7 Mb of RAM. When I was in class, that kind of Mac was hard to find. dave
