Sections of Manitoba were subjected to prolonged drought conditions recently (notably 1988-89). This, combined with decreasing water tables, has contributed to decline and mortality in both mature (notably oak) and regenerating (notably pine) stands. We are presently involved in identifying damage agents in growth and yield plots, with the aim of determining their long-term impact on yield. Any information on models, existing or under development, would be welcome.
