Subject: Postdoc: Landscape Ecology/Forest Birds
Postdoctoral Associate: Forest Birds and Landscape Ecology
The Natural Resources Research Institute (NRRI) at the University of
Minnesota, Duluth has an opening for a postdoc to work with two PIs (Gerald
Niemi, avian ecologist; David Mladenoff, forest/landscape ecologist) in a
continuing project to assess the landscape effects of forest management on
birds.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD. Desired Qualifications: Experience with
forest bird ecology and landscape ecology. Familiarity with Geographic
Information Systems (GIS).
Responsibilities: Participate in an interdisciplinary research group.
Coordinate and participate in project planning and field work, analyze
data, and co-author publications. Participate in developing a landscape
model of bird response to management and forest change, to link with a
currently developed forest landscape model. Appointment is for up to two
years depending on starting date. Position available Fall 1993. To apply
