germinating lodgepole pine seeds

I need to germinate small numbers of lodgepole pine (_Pinus contorta_)
seeds in axenic conditions. I have tried surface sterilisation with
Hydrogen Peroxide (30% for 20 minutes) followed by plating onto 1%glucose
agar plates. These were then kept at 25 C in darkness. However germination
rate was very low (2 - 5 %).
Does any one know of a better method ? or of some references which may give
details.
Thanks for any help,
Doug
