TERMINOLOGY: CALL FOR DOCUMENTS Have you ever undertaken the unusual job of putting together a glossary, a word list or a terminology in any forestry subject field? Did you eventually collect definitions because you needed the true and complete understanding of technical terms? Paying increased attention to terminological issues, IUFRO Subject Group S6.03-00 "Information systems and terminology" under the leadership of A. Kempf and the IUFRO Secretariat would like to get more information on terminological activities within the IUFRO Research Groups and by individual researchers. You may have established a word list of technical terms in one or more languages, a small vocabulary for your individual needs. We would be pleased to know what you felt the urgent need was for terminological data and where you had to come to grips yourself with the absence of a competent dictionary or terminology. We ask you to send us a copy of any word list, vocabulary or terminology you have put together, including electronic documents. We would like to collect those important and valuable documents and announce their existence in a later issue of IUFRO News. Every contribution, large or small is welcome| We are also interested in receiving suggestions on subject fields which you think do not get sufficient attention in glossaries or terminologies, unilingual or multilingual.
