Dear Forest People:
There have occured some subscribe messages sent to forest-list
and forwarded to all people of the list.
So I deside to write this short info for these people
who are interested to subscribe forest list.
I hope that people who allready are member of the forest-list
give this information forward to people want to subscribe to
forest-list.

JOINING THE LIST:
To join the forest-list , send a mail to
mailserver@nic.funet.fi
You will need to issue the "subscribe" command; the listserver software
will then extract your E-mail address from your message and add it to the
recipient list. the first row of the message should be:
subscribe forest <your first name> <your last name>
For example, using the standard Unix mail program,
the exchange would look like this
% mail mailserver@nic.funet.fi
Subject: <return>
subscribe forest John Smith
.
%
The list server will mail back a confirmation message, and you are now able to
participate in the list.
LEAVING THE LIST:
To remove yourself from the list, send mail to
mailserver@nic.funet.fi
which contain in the first row command:
unsubscribe forest
OBTAINING MORE INFORMATION:
The list server also understands many other commands;
send a command 'help' to mailserver for more info:
SENDING MAIL TO ALL LIST MEMBERS !
The mailing list works simply: all messages that are sent to:
forest@nic.funet.fi
are forwarded to all the members who have subscribed to the forest-list.
REMEMBER !
ALL MESSAGE SENT TO forest@nic.funet.fi are forwarded all member of the
list. So don't send mailserver commnads like 'subscribe' to addres
forest@nic.funet.fi.
