QUESTION FOR THE NETWORK

I have been impressed with the number of project-planning
software packages available.  I wonder if any of these 
would be of use in managing research projects.  My suspicions
are that (a) they are like many software packages and 
business-oriented rather than science-oriented, and/or 
(b) they are really all glitter and no gold; however, 
I hope these suspicions are wrong.

Has anyone found a project-planning software package useful
to biological science research projects??
