Metla released a network version of its forest planning software. NettiMELA is a leasing application internet service that can be used to make forest calculations through the MELA software installed on the Metla server. The service is intended for companies or other organizations that need forest calculations, either to plan their own forest management and use, or to provide planning services for forest owners. NettiMELA speeds up the adoption of research results in practical forestry and the related planning systems. MELA is a forestry model and planning tool developed for Finnish conditions to help rationalize forest planning and economy. For example, current and future correlations between forest inventories and their use can be examined with MELA.
