Customer-oriented logistics and e-business
of chopped firewood
Bringing cost-effectiveness to the cutting residue and chopped firewood trade
A model of the cost structure of chopped firewood at different
production scales, was created as well as new models for calculating
the yield of energy wood stands marked for cutting. Firewood logistics
was examined using simulation techniques, and applicability of forest
planning information in channelling firewood to the market was also
studied.
The project was funded by the European Regional Development Fund
and North Karelian companies. The project was a sub-project of the
Tekes programme "Small-scale production and use of wood fuels".
