Forest organisations are testing the MOTTI software

The MOTTI software helps to simulate stand development and compare the impact of different treatment chains on the tree stand and economic income. In addition to the basal area growth model and dominant height model describing peatland development, a probability model describing mortality and models predicting the effects of ditch network maintenance and fertilisation were also created. The MOTTI software provides for versatile examination of wood products and price differences can be taken into account in profitability comparisons. For example, prediction of small-diameter logging can be a useful additional tool for economic comparisons of management types.

Forest organizations have tested the MOTTI software in practice. It is a good decision support tool for primary thinning in peatland stands, to mention just one example. The models and software solutions tested in MOTTI are also applied in the MELA software.
