Integrated forestry planning method based on simulation and optimisation

The first version of the J software for forest modelling and planning applications was completed for more general test use.

The software contains a simulation language for defining forest simulators and a linear optimisation module applicable for forest planning. The module replaced the previous linear programming JLP software which is used in, for example, in the MELA software and in corresponding forest planning programs in Sweden and Norway. The new J software was taken into use in Norway both for research use and practical applications of forest planning.
